FIG YOU IAN!!!!

Day 4 post Hurricane Ian

We were on the Island and went through Ian’s wrath. We were rescued by heroic first responders and transported to where our family could scoop us up by our Coast Guard friends, the Fetzners; we are safe, physically healthy, and with family.

There are no delicate words to say how heartbroken we are of the loss and devastation our little island paradise has experienced. Our hearts and prayers are with everyone with hope that all are safe and in the process of figuring out next steps to find shelter, food, and reunite with loved ones.

We, along with our Paper Fig Kitchen (PFK) crew are all accounted for and safe. Apart from securing what we need as families, we are actively formulating a plan to return as soon as possible to get PFK open and running so we can feed our Island community in the days to come.

We are not disillusioned… cleanup and rebuilding the island will not be a quick process. We want to let everyone know that in the months ahead, PFK will be here for our Sanibel/Captiva community.
